We all need a good winter warmer to weather the chills, and a glass of red and some hearty soup is just the ticket! The Breedekloof Soetes and Soup Festival brings us the best of both worlds with their pairing of sweet dessert wines and warm broth.
The annual event sees the coming together of local wine estates who will be showcasing some of their finest wines. While there will be a variety of wines to cater to different tastes, the main focus will be on the award-winning soetes (dessert wines) Hanepoot, Port, Noble Late Harvest and others.
Each wine estate will complement their wine with signature soups – think biltong and blue cheese, cheeseburger and waterblommetjies and other unusually delicious combinations!
And the cherry on the top for all you vinos out there? Some of the participating estates will be offering discounts on their wines, so be sure to stock up on all your favourites!
