UCON is a convention that showcases a variety of anime, gaming, cosplay stalls, contests and events.
Genshiken UCT is a diverse university-associated society for the appreciation of anime, video gaming and Japanese culture. Since 2013, they have been hosting a successful annual convention called UCON.
The event features gaming tournaments hosted by Zombiegamer and Cape Town Showdown. There will be Japanese culture exhibitions in connection with the Japanese consulate, sushi-making courses, cosplay workshops, drawing workshops, Korean pop dance, martial art demonstrations and Taiko drumming. There will also be a two-day cosplay contest including a parade and in-character skits and performances, as well as the prize giving ceremony.

Cost Student: R35 (one day) or R55 (two days) Non-student: R55 (one day) or R80 (two days) Children under 10 enter for free. Tickets will be available at the door and pre-sales on 4 December
