This Friday is St Patrick’s Day and that means an insane day of green everything! Whilst traditionally a cultural and religious day to commemorate patron Saint Patrick, the day has become a global celebration. If your blood is green (or at least green for the day) ,here are four St Paddy’s Day events you won’t want to miss.
1 The President Hotel
Head to to the President Hotel to enjoy a three-course meal completely inspired from Guinness at the Islands Restaurant. In the spirit of drinking, the starter is a pint of Guinness. Next, line your stomach with braised steak and Guinness pie accompanied by roasted veg and skinny fries before ending it off with your choice of dessert that includes an Irish car bomb, Bailey’s sponge with whisky gel or whisky parfait, and Guinness mousse. You can also opt to have just one of the courses if all three seem a tad indulgent. One thing’s for sure – your night will be full of Irish happiness.

If you’re looking for a proper beer-filled night, head to a dedicated beer bar. Beerhouse will be serving Kilkenny and Guinness on tap, and if you’re serious about your drinking, take advantage of their beer and deer special where you get 500 ml of Kilkenny and Guinness and a shot of Jägermeister for R50. There will also be a DJ to get the party started and a photo booth to capture all your party-fuelled shenanigans.
4 The Station on Bree
The underground-inspired eatery will be setting up a beer garden in honour of St Patrick’s Day. Besides a tonne of beer specials, you can expect live entertainment and yummy tapas. Starts things off with a chilled session in the beer garden, then takes thing up a notch by hitting the dancefloor.
