One of my guilty pleasures is going to décor stores and picking out items for my dream home. I love seeing how something as simple as a lamp can be designed in such a way that it somehow suits my taste to the letter. The best place for this is Woodstock. In between its graffiti-lined streets and beautiful old buildings, you will definitely find cool and quirky things to add to your life, and when it comes to décor and design, the best place to visit is The Palms.
It is as if someone took all my décor dreams and put them into one awesome centre. From fabrics to furniture, and everything in between you will definitely find what you are looking for at The Palms – no matter your taste. It’s the perfect place to scout for that one item that will just tie your whole room together, or that piece of art that will stamp your personality in your new home. Warning; you will have a strong desire to redecorate your entire place with all the awesome stuff available.
From the moment you enter the centre, you are hit with exquisite style. The building itself is spectacular and historic. It was once the site of Baumann’s Biscuits and Duens Bread in the early 1900s, and you can still see some of the original factory features and trimmings. These classic features combined with the contemporary stores aptly express the essence of The Palms and what you’ll find there.
For those of you who like exclusivity, you will find unique pieces at many of the stores. Some offer one-of-a-kind pieces, others are made to order, so you can be sure to get exactly what you want. They also host incredible markets that are absolute treats. We adore the Palms Market that happens every Saturday. There is always such a great vibe. You go through stalls, get some incredible food and every now and then you are treated to live music.
They also host a vintage market called The Kattebak, which is inspired by the well-known brocante markets on the French countryside. Here you will find an eclectic mix of items from linen and clothing to books and music. You can buy or sell items and share your love of vintage with like minded people. There are also awesome events that help mix things up. Currently, That Art Fair is happening where emerging creatives are given a platform for exposure to a larger audience. When it comes to décor and design, The Palms is the mecca or lifestyle centres that will surely make your dreams come true.
