Entertaining children is one of the hardest things to do, especially during winter. It’s a common experience that most parents, siblings and babysitters go through.

If you take a look at the movies Daddy Day Care and Are We There Yet? or my ultimate favourite kids movie, Cheaper by the Dozen. All they have in common is one thing: adults trying to figure out how to entertain kids without everything going comically wrong (which it usually does).

Bugz

Living with my seven-year-old cousin seemed to be a breeze, up until I started babysitting during school holidays and the ‘I’m bored’ rants began. It’s difficult to find a play area suitable for kids, come summer or winter. One also needs to think about whether that area will still remain fun as the child grows older. I have found a solution: Bugz Playpark – a place with fun activities for kids to help develop social skills, imagination as well as give them a full body workout.

Bugz Playpark offers many fun rides for children, such as a choo-choo train, tree houses, sandpits, swing horses, peddle cars and water slides for summer. If the weather starts getting gloomy, kids can head to the indoor play area, which is equipped with slides, a swing tree, obstacle course and even a zip line.

Bugz party areas can be booked for a minimum of 10 children. All parties are planned according to a theme and are set in fun venues such as the crown room, cooking room, secret garden or pirates’ cove.

The ‘Sparkle Party Spot’ is the girls party area, where my cousin’s 7th birthday party was held. The venue was decorated like the inside of a castle dressing room, with nail polish stands, vanity dressing tables full of mirrors and lights, and friendly party hostesses dressed in glitter fairy tutus.

The boys party zone, called the Barnyard area, is decorated with cars hanging from the ceiling, tractors and a fun barnyard theme. When booking a party, Bugz provides party packets, a personalised cake and food platters according to your specific theme (their homemade rainbow-layered cake with butter icing, topped with Speckled Eggs, Astros and Smarties is amazing).

Bugz Playpark caters for children under the age of 12 and all children under the age of 10 have to be accompanied by an adult when using the facilities.

Bugz-Cake

There is a canteen area for when your kids are hungry after hours of fun. The canteen serves breakfast, lunch as well as dessert options such as marshmallow sticks, chocolate pudding and creamy milkshakes, and there are slush puppy machines and a fully equipped candy bar.

Bugz Playpark is the ideal spot for fun during the school holidays.
