With the shaky economy and political tensions that are currently rocking our country, it is easy to over look the good things that do happen, particularly here in Cape Town. This holiday saw a big boost in international visitors, and our beautiful Cape Point has greatly benefited from this.

During peak season, Cape Point experienced a 7.2% increase in the number of visitors. Not only that, the Flying Dutchman Funicular, which takes visitors from the lower station at the Cape Point parking lot to the upper lighthouse and view points, saw visitor numbers increase by 15.45%.

This increase is partly due to the increase of international visitors to our shores, but a big, more important reason for this is an increase in locals visitors going to explore our many attractions. This makes us here at Cape Town ETC very happy.

We are lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, filled with great places like Cape Point, and we should take advantage of it. Not only for our own amusement, although that is a bonus, but also to benefit our city. Supporting our parks and businesses is a great way to ensure our city grows from strength to strength.
