The Two Oceans Aquarium has always been a great place to visit. You can see fascinating sea creatures, learn more about our oceans, engage with some of the animals and even dive in the Predator Exhibit and the Kelp Forest. Just when you thought the aquarium couldn’t get any better, they opened two new attractions that are quite spectacular.

The new I&J Ocean Exhibit and Jelly Gallery debuted on Youth Day. Visitors to the aquarium were treated to a sneak peak of these wonderful exhibits, led by Two Oceans Aquarium CEO Michael Farquhar.

The I&J Ocean Exhibit opened after two and half years of hard work. The Two Oceans Aquarium says that that the I&J Ocean Exhibit is the first major construction for the aquarium in 21 years. It boasts a full 10 metre long tunnel and its viewing window is a continuous nine metre-wide panel, which is 4 metre high.

Through it you can see an array of specimens, including yellowfin tuna, striped bonito, rays and green turtles. The exhibit holds 1.6 million litres of seawater and is six metres deep. It is the first of its kind in South Africa.

The Jelly Gallery is a display dedicated to the wonderful world of jellyfish. You’ll be hypnotised by the different jellies, floating around and glowing as if they are magical creatures. Both attractions are now open and waiting for you to explore.
