The Two Oceans Aquarium returns with its iconic Turtle Week, which will run from 21 to 27 May 2018.

The Aquarium will be giving away an Ocean Experience this year, where the lucky winner will meet rehabilitated turtles Bob and Sandy, as well as the 200 other animals living in the I&J Ocean Exhibit.

To enter the competition, simply pay a visit to the Turtle Wall in the Skretting Diversity Gallery during Turtle Week and climb inside the giant loggerhead turtle shell replica. Snap a photo of yourself and post the photo to the Two Oceans Aquarium’s Twitter, Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #TurtleWeek. Make sure to tag the Two Oceans Aquarium in the post, and come up with the most turtally awesome caption you can think of.

A myriad of activities have also been planned for Turtle Week, including:

Meet the turtle conservation team – daily at 2.10pm

Join a member of the turtle conservation team each day for an in-depth presentation about the behind-the-scenes work at the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre to learn about what it takes to nurse these precious sea creatures back to health.

The presenters will ask the audience questions afterwards, so make sure to pay attention.

I&J Ocean Exhibit turtle feeding – daily between 12pm and 2pm

Meet at the I&J Ocean Exhibit for a chance to see the aquarium’s scuba divers in action feeding the sea turtles, rays and giant guitarfish by hand. And, as a bonus, the scuba divers will be able to talk to you from underwater, introduce you to everyone’s favorite green sea turtles, Bob and Sandy, and take your questions.

Again at 2pm, make sure to watch the feeding frenzy as the smaller animals hurry for food in their daily drop-feed. After this feed, hang around to meet the turtle conservation team for their presentation.

I Love Turtles puppet show – daily at 10.30am , 1.30pm  and 3.30pm

Children adore the I Love Turtles puppet adventure, featuring Hatch the Turtle as they learn about the dangers of marine litter such as discarded balloons, which look like food to sea turtles. Catch the puppet show in the I&J Children’s Play Centre three times a day during Turtle Week.

Children’s arts and crafts – all day

The I&J Children’s Play Centre will have ongoing turtle-themed arts and crafts throughout the week. You might say they’ve ‘hatched’ the ultimate kids’ day out!

Meet the turtles with your own Ocean Experience or scuba dive

If you’ve fallen in love with turtles (and let’s face it, who hasn’t), the Two Oceans Aquarium has got the solution! Engage with the friendly rescue turtles Bob and Sandy in your very own Ocean Experience, and get a privileged look (with mask and snorkel) at the beautiful short-tail stingrays, the man-faced black musselcracker, giant guitarfish and the nearly 200 other fish swimming around the I&J Ocean Exhibit.
