From the 22nd to the 25th of September, South Africans will be celebrating our national culture and history with the Heritage Long Weekend. The Mother City is offering so many great ways you can enjoy the public holiday this spring, here are a few fun activities to celebrate the long weekend accordingly.

1 Zeitz MOCCA Grand Opening

The Zeitz MOCAA will hold its grand public opening from 22 to 25 September 2017, to coincide with Heritage Day weekend, and is dubbed to be to Cape Town what the Tate Modern is to London and MoMA to New York.

2 Free entry to SANParks

In the mood of spring, South African National Parks (SANParks) is celebrating accordingly with the launch of its week-long campaign that provides South African residents free access to nearly all 21 national parks from Monday 18 September to Friday 22 September 2017, dependent on the park.

From 18 – 24 September, Bontebok National Park will be offering free entry, 16 – 23 September at the Garden Route National Park, 18 – 24 September at Tankwa Karoo National Park, 18 – 23 September at the Table Mountain National Park, excluding Boulders Penguin Colony and the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway and the West Coast National Park will be inviting guests in without charge from 18 – 22 September 2017.

3 Foxcroft Sunday Supper Special

4 Earthdance Festival

Join one of the biggest music festivals as spring takes us into the festival season. Earthdance will be taking place in Worcester from 22 – 24 September, bringing you three days of great music, awesome stalls, yoga sanctuaries and stunning decor.

5 Braai Day at Orphanage Cocktail Emporium

Join Orphanage on the 24th as they transform their outside area into a stylish lounge, where artists will move through the afternoon for a laid back Sunday afternoon for a traditional lunch.
