Sex. It’s a fact of life and we all do it. When you live in a city as beautiful as Cape Town, it’s hard not to take the bedroom antics outdoors because, you know, sex in public offers a thrill unlike any other lovemaking spot at home.

Technically sex in public is illegal, so for the record we’re not condoning anything illegal here, but, if do feel like taking your lovemaking outdoors, do so at your own peril without getting caught.

LION’S HEAD

Possibly the most popular spot in Cape Town to get jiggy with it after-hours (and during the day if you’re bold enough). The road to Signal Hill is full of spaces to pull over for a quickie after dark, but if you find yourself a concealed spot on the mountain while the sun is still up, make sure it’s well off the beaten track otherwise you may end up being internet stars without even knowing it. Enjoy the view.

Kirstenbosch Gardens is probably a lot bigger than you think, containing many tucked away areas with very little foot traffic. I have seen many a flustered couple emerge from the bushes at Kirstenbosch, no doubt taking full advantage of the great outdoors.

With so many wine farms and extensive vineyards in and around Cape Town, it’s not difficult to find a spot among the vines where you and your partner can get right to it. Grab a picnic blanket, a bottle of wine and let the good times roll… through the vines.

A secluded cave around the corner from Llandudno beach. This is the quintessential sex-on-the-beach spot that overlooks a private bay – quite literally the perfect nook for nookie.

What could be better than sex in the woods? Pure, unadulterated, primal. These are a few words to describe just how awesome rumpy-pumpy in the forest is. Pine needles are not nearly as painful a surface as they sound.
