Returning for the eighth year of bubbling brews and a great time, The Cape Town Festival of Beer is taking place at Hamilton’s Rugby Club from 1 – 3 December, with early bird tickets already on sale.

From lagers and ales, stouts to ciders, the local and international beer scene is growing more and more every year – so festival-goers can expect a few new breweries joining their returning favourites.

“Cape Town Festival of Beer is the biggest beer festival of its kind in the Southern Hemiphere,” says co-founder of CTFOB, Martin Tucker. “We have the highest number of commercially available beers of any beer festival in the country. This year we are also adding a wider range of ciders from cideries around the country.”

2017’s festival will see a stronger focus on ciders, with an extensive offering as the local cider industry has been taking off over the past few years.

A corporate hospitality offering will be available for the Friday night this year, with a dedicated seating area, food and beer vouchers and a dedicated host. Cape Town’s business set is invited to take advantage of this opportunity to host their year-end parties at CTFOB 2017, while also a special discount will be available for groups of more than 20 people.

Even though many established brewers will be returning to this year’s festival, a number of brewers will be attending the festival for the first time. Everyone from the casual beer drinker to the beer sommelier will have the opportunity to sip on the beers they’ve never tasted, styles they’ve never tried and to see how brewers are pushing the boundaries of beer more than ever before.

The festival is allocating a unique vibe and feel to each of the three days of the festival, from the ideal year-end function or post-work drinks event of Friday, to a day of sports and entertainment on Saturday, and a day for the whole family on Sunday.

Friday night will see the best in beer and food after a final week of work. Companies have the opportunity to secure their own space on the night for a year-end function celebration with the corporate package.

Saturday offers the ultimate day to night with the very best in beer, live music and entertainment, with an array of artisan food trucks to settle hungry bellies and watering mouths. Special VIP packages are available for festival-goers on Saturday, offering beer and food vouchers, a reserved table and a dedicated host.

Kick it with the family on Sunday for a fun-filled day of family entertainment including fun for the kids, artisan food trucks and beer or cider for the parents.
