La Colombe, one of SA’s finest eateries, has has snatched 7th placed on the list of the World’s Best Restaurants at the TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Awards.

We reached out to Head Chef Scot Kirton who is currently in London and he is beside himself that La Colombe has reached worldwide fame.

“This level of global recognition is extremely rewarding for our entire team who work passionately and tirelessly every day and focus on everything they do. It’s all about the detail and doing lots of small things well that creates this sort of consistency. La Colombe is building a culinary legacy and we continually strive to delight our guests,” said an ecstatic Kirton.

Those who have experienced the unforgettable eatery at Silvermist Estate at Constantia Nek would likely be in agreement on its recent accolade. The news is not only a major victory for Kirton, James Gaag and team, but also another breakthrough for putting Cape Town on the international culinary map.

Nearly 400 of the world’s most exquisite restaurants were recognised at the awards, where 25 of the World’s Best Restaurants were also in contention. La Colombe may be a rare indulgence for most Capetonians, but the good news is that their affordable spring lunch menu is available until the end of this month, where R450 will get you 4-courses served up in the signature La Colombe style. The special is available from Monday to Thursday for lunch only.

Not bad for 7th best in the world, huh?
