Not that we ever doubted a Capetonian would be crowned Miss South Africa… congratulations Tamaryn Green from Paarl, who walked away with the coveted title on Sunday evening.

Green is 23 and hails from Paarl, she is studying to be a doctor and has won seven titles including Miss New Orleans and Miss Rochester.

She will now represent South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant. Tamaryn made it to the top two and beat 26-year-old, University of Cape Town graduate Thulisa Keyi who was crowned with the Miss World SA title.

Her prizes add up to a R3-million package, inclusive of R1-million in cash, a fully-furnished and serviced apartment for the year of her reign, and a Nissan Qashqai. Congratulations Tamaryn, you did us proud.
