Next time you’re near the beautiful Bantry Bay area, be sure to try their menu with its selection of greens, braised and roasted meats, with a skilfully paired wine for each main dish. The restaurant’s menu highlights some of the hotel’s Executive Chef Paterson’s, most comforting creations, paired with some of the best cuisine and wine South Africa has to offer. You can choose from starters including honey and cinnamon roasted butternut soup topped with gnocchi and sage cream, mains featuring braised shoulder of lamb with soft polenta, red wine jus and homemade tomato chutney paired with the Stellenbosch Blaauwklippen Zinfandel, or a seafood ragout with Neapolitan sauce, olives, and chorizo paired with the Hemel-en Aarde Newton Johnson Felicité Pinot Noir, and much more. For those avid sweet tooths there is a selection of delectable desserts, you can enjoy.
If you’re looking for a lunchtime snack, pop on over to the Botany Café for their daily specials offered throughout the Winter season including Cape seafood chowder, peppered steak pie, and other delightful dishes.
To balance your palate throughout your visit at the President, grab a glass of wine from their selection from over 14 different wine farms. This will be an opportunity to introduce you to the wine culture of the Cape, and provide you with full-bodied whites and reds to accompany the chill. The Presidential wine experience will take you through the vineyards in Contantia, Durbanville Wine Valley, Franschhoek, Hemel-en-Aarde, to the Stellenbosch wine route as well as boutique wineries.
