Cape Town now has its own signature cocktail with hints of all things delicious that represent this Western Cape city, thanks to Vitezslav Cirok, one of the top six bartenders chosen at the World Class Bartender of the Year 2015 competition.

Bartender

According to Traveller24, out of 20 000 entrants from over 54 countries, Cirok made it to the top six and his talents in the world of mixology truly shone bright as he recently presented the Cape Town cocktail. The acclaimed bartender’s journey began at the One & Only Cape Town, where Chef Reuben Riffel introduced him to the unique flavours of Cape Town such as lemon geranium, which Chef Reuben uses in a fish braai sauce.

Cirok explored the city to find the best flavours and tastes that represented Cape Town. The Cape Malay flavours of the Bo Kaap influenced Cirok’s decision to add rose water to the cocktail. While the top of Table Mountain inspired the addition of Rooibos, because what is the Cape without the gorgeous presence of nature’s Fynbos?

Finally Cirok chose to add in Cape Method Cap Classique to represent our rich wine culture, then mixed in some coconut water, creating the perfect Cape Town inspired cocktail. The drink is light, slightly spicy and presented in a classic wine glass (we are a wine province after all), on a piece of grey stone to symbolise the icon that is Table Mountain.
