1 Mountain Breeze Farm Stall
The rolling green fields are the first thing that catch your eye. Besides getting your strawberry fix, you can indulge in chocolate, sweets and nuts, all at one convenient location in Stellenbosch. 2 Mooiberg farm
The name says it all. As you enter the farm in Stellenbosch you are greeted by creatively carved scarecrows who stand guard over well nourished strawberries. Plan accordingly, the public is only allowed to to pick berries during weekends and public holidays. The cafe and farmers kitchen, however, are open all week if you are in the area. 3 Polkadraai
A firm favourite in the Stellenbosch area, you will never get enough of their facilities. Before you run out into the strawberry fields make sure you buy a container, you are not allowed to pick berries without one. Once you get your fill of fruit you can meander the child-friendly area which boasts activities like tractor and pony rides, face painting and mini golf. 4 Helderberg Farm
Perched on the foot of the Helderberg mountain, the farm is the epitome of traditional South African charm. Visitors get far more than they have bargained for. They are not only famous for their fields of strawberries, they also have indigenous wildlife. The clump of trees on the farm is home to more than 100 bird species. 5 Redberry farm
Located in the picturesque town of George, Redberry Farm have secured their spot in the top five not only for their berries, but also for their tea garden. You can almost smell the freshly baked scones slathered with fresh cream, strawberry preserves and butter. Make your way to the farm stall for everything strawberry. The strawberry jam is addictive, make sure you buy an extra one on your way out. If you want to prolong your visit your stay, there is a self catering cottage on the property.
