The good people over at Cape Town Tourism have launched a lekker new campaign called Hello Weekend.

Adding to our efforts here at Cape Town Etc to highlight the best of what’s on in Cape Town on a daily basis, Hello Weekend provides the people of Cape Town a platform to make the perfect weekend plans.

After tapping into your general preferences, the website suggests a tailor-made weekend experience for you, whether you’re a Saturday morning snoozer like myself or a bright-and-early morning adventurer.

Hello Weekend

Fine art or food art? Fresh air or fresh food? The intelligent system picks up exactly what you’re into. After taking the test, my suggested weekend plan was the ‘Tastescape Weekend’ which included a visit to the Good Food & Wine Show, a Champagne Sunday brunch and a Cape Malay cooking class. You can guess that I’m into food.

I liked the fact that this recommended weekend package was also made available to visitors from upcountry. In this case, the package deal was quoted as being R3 624 including return economy-class flights, two-day Avis car rental and two nights’ accommodation.

Expect Hello Weekend to liven up weekends from here on out!
