The City of Cape Town is recognizing the need for a future involving high-speed internet to create an environment of economic growth. That is, of course, if Eskom comes to the party and lets us imagine a future involving fibre-optic connectivity in the private sector.

As stated by the city, we are now at the point where the fibre-optic network is robust and extensive enough to be leveraged off to the private sector. Ultimately what this means is that we could be seeing a positive boost in terms of high-speed internet being accessible to all.
