Sea Point Promenade, Beach Road

The annual Festival of Chariots, also known as Ratha Yatra, is a traditional Vedic street parade that re-enacts the sacred chariot journey.

Musicians, dancers, singers and festival-goers perform the Festival of Chariots annually in every continent of the world. It’s a festival where friends unite and family bonds and values are strengthened.

Don your most colourful attire, and experience the unique opportunity of pulling a rope which drives a 20-metre high traditional Indian chariot in celebration of peace, harmony and bliss.

There will be stalls in the festival area featuring vegetarian cuisine, yoga demonstrations, mantra meditation, philosophical discussions, a book stall with traditional Vedic literature, a henna tattoo parlour and fun activities for kids.
