Only 20 minutes from Cape Town, the Durbanville Wine Valley is a fantastic place to enjoy long summer days with family and friends. The combination of exceptional wines, delicious food, grape stomping, tutored tastings, live music, and spectacular scenery promise a deluxe harvest celebration.

The 2016 Feast of the Grape celebration is different because it brings the 12 member farms in the valley together in one location. Instead of each farm hosting their own event, they have chosen the picture perfect D’Aria to host the weekend of harvest festivities.

12 wine farms will be taking part in the festivities at D’Aria: Altydgedacht, Bloemendal, D’Aria, De Grendel, Diemersdal, Durbanville Hills, Groot Phesantekraal, Hillcrest, Klein Roosboom, Meerendal, Nitida and Signal Gun.

This is an ideal family outing because parents can kick back and relax knowing that the kids are being entertained. There will be a special children’s entertainment area featuring carnival rides, a play area for tots under the age of two, face painting, and other fun activities.

There are plenty festival passes available but if you really want to learn about wine, you’ll have to hurry to get your hands on a free tutored tasting booking.

The winery restaurants will be serving delicious food and ever-trendy food trucks will be available too.

A harvest festival isn’t complete without grape stomping. Have some fun and kick off your shoes to experience the sensory explosion of grape squishing and splattering.

The sounds of live music will rock the festival from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday and until 6 pm on Sunday. The lineup includes Bottomless Coffee BandNewton & CoNatasha Meister, and In The Deep End.
