The Red Carnation Guest Chef Series is a first-rate foodie experience; the series takes several notable chefs out of their kitchens to do kitchen takeovers at luxurious destinations owned by the Red Carnation group around South Africa.

Last week we were privy to American Chef Gerard Coughlin’s culinary masterpieces at the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa as part of the Guest Chef Series. It was an evening filled with great food (take a look at what was on the menu here) and wine pairing. It was exciting to experience dishes which don’t get a lot of shine here – American classics like lobster, mac and cheese and Creole seafood gumbo to name a few.

The series is not over yet, the next Red Carnation Guest Chef Series event taking place at Bushman’s Kloof for a special food weekend with Kevin Joseph, Executive Chef at The Oyster Box in Umhlanga. This man is known for his curries and Indian-inspired cuisine – fitting for winter. Fans can enjoy his feasts at The Twelve Apostles Hotel’s Azure Restaurant on 21 July 2015, or during a weekend away at Bushmans Kloof from 19 – 21 June 2015.

Christo Pretorius, Executive Chef at The Twelve Apostles and rising star of the Western Cape’s culinary scene, will cook up a storm during another special food weekend at Bushmans Kloof from 3 – 5 July 2015
