Seeing construction equipment around the V&A Waterfront is not an uncommon sight. Cape Town’s top tourist destination is constantly updating and upgrading itself in an effort to increase the already more than 25-million visitors who walk through its doors each year. Progress, however, is often unseen, and it’s very rarely we get an insight into what is going on behind the curtains.

CNN recently had the privilege of taking a deeper look at the transformation of the old grain silos at the V&A Waterfront into the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA). It’s an ambitious project that eventually will see Cape Town claim the title of having the world’s biggest contemporary African art museum.

Check out their One Square Meter video below:

V&A Waterfront CEO, David Green, says the Zeitz MOCAA will be yet another feather in the Waterfront’s cap and is bound to increase the number of visitors they see annually.
