There has never been a doubt in my mind that we live in one of the greatest cities in the world, but it’s always nice to have it confirmed. Over the weekend, Cape Town came up on two ‘best in the world’ lists, and we couldn’t be prouder.

The first list TripAdviser Top 25 Beaches in the World. Camps bay is one of three African beaches in the world to be on that list and is placed at number 17. What makes this list particularly great, is that it’s voted for by millions of travellers as part of the TripAdvisor’s Traveller Choice Awards. That means everyday people from all over the world deemed our beloved Camps Bay worthy and we agree wholeheartedly with them.

Whether you are looking to beat the heat with a dip, hang out with friends and family, relax and read or just watch the sunset, Camps Bay has long been a popular beach for locals and tourists alike. On the TripAdvisor Top 25 Beaches in Africa, Western Cape beaches make four appearances. Camps bay comes in second on the whole list, with Clifton at nine, Bloubergstrand at 12 and Grotto beach in Hermanus at 24.

The second list concerns coffee.

Forget London, Paris and New York, if you are looking for the best coffee shop in the world you’ll find it right here in Cape Town Truth Coffee Roasting was named the best coffee shop by The Telegraph. According to Traveller24, this is the second time Truth has topped this list and if you’ve been there it’s easy to see why. Their super-cool steampunk décor, great vibe and amazing coffee make for a winning combination.

If you haven’t been to either of these places, it’s time to get in on this world-class action, and if you have been, go again! They are ranked amongst the best for a reason!
