We’ve said it before, and we will keep on saying it. Cape Town is the best. To be fair, we are completely biased, particularly here at Cape Town ETC. Every day we see just how incredible the city is. We get thousands of images from you showing our stunning natural beauty, trendy city and colorful streets. We experience the best culture, food and entertainment that is on offer. With this in our faces all the time, it’s hard not to put Cape Town on a pedestal.
So when people from other parts of the world confirm this belief, we feel proud that our opinion is based on fact. Prestigious UK newspaper, The Telegraph held a vote for their 2015-16 Telegraph Travel Awards. According to the publication, 75 000 readers voted for their favourite destinations, airlines, tour operators and so forth. Not only was Cape Town voted the best City, it has won this honour for the fourth consecutive year. That means our standard as a world-class city and holiday destination has not dropped.
The second place went to Vancouver (Canada), and Venice (Italy) came in third. South Africa was voted third best country in the world, which is another impressive feather in our cap. We were succeeded by Maldives and New Zealand, who came in second and first respectively. This year we have already seen Camps Bay make Trip Advisors World’s Best Beach list. Truth Coffee Roasting was named The Telegraphs’ best coffee shop and Table Mountain and Cape Point saw a significant rise in visitors.
With so much going for us, we are sure to make other ‘world’s best’ lists, and honestly, we deserve to be there!
