Remember the controversial Clifton development we wrote about in February? The City of Cape Town has now approved the sale of that prime land.

To recap, the space, now known as the Clifton Precinct, is located where The Bungalow restaurant (formerly La Med) and Glen Country Club are. The proposed development entailed a parking garage with 750 bays, around 2 750m of commercial space including an anchor retail tenant, boutique shops and the potential re-introduction of La Med.

Despite protest from opposition parties and numerous Clifton residents, the sale of the ‘millionaires mile’ land went ahead yesterday at a full council sitting. The winning bidder of the land is yet to be announced.
