The month of June delivered forces of nature to the Western Cape that wreaked havoc, resulting in residents losing homes, lives being lost and severe damage to many structures, including hundreds of schools across the province.

Goodhope FM has joined forces with GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World to host the United in Hope Benefit Concert to raise funds for those whose lives have been impacted by last month’s ‘Cape Storm’ and the Knysna fires.

The fundraiser will feature a stellar lineup of chart-topping South African artists from rapper Nasty C and crooner Chad Saaiman to the pop beats of Locnville, Lakota Silva and more. A night of music and dance is definitely in the works, but guests can also look forward to bouts of comedy from local funny guys (and Good Hope FM presenters) Dalin Oliver and Carl Weber.

What’s more, all proceeds will go to The South African Red Cross Society and Community Chest NPO. Brendan Ficks, Good Hope FM Station Manager, says “We all feel an initial sense of helplessness when a natural disaster hits our communities and we see suffering all around us but don’t always have the means or know-how to help. Together we can make a significant contribution and most importantly, give hope to those affected. We encourage the people of Cape Town to come out and support this initiative.

Get your tickets today for the United in Hope Benefit Concert, which takes place on August 5th, 2017, from 18:00 – 11:30 PM, supported by the SABC Foundation – making a sound difference together. Tickets are R150 and are available to purchase from Computicket. For more information and an up-to-date lineup of artists visit www.goodhopefm.co.za.
