A man was brutally stabbed while attempting to protect his girlfriend from robbers on Wednesday afternoon on the Garden Route.
The incident occurred at Leentjiesklip, a beach in Wilderness, where the couple was taking a leisurely stroll. According to reports, the pair were robbed of their cellphones, money and other valuables before the suspects fled.
It is not clear where the man was stabbed, nor how severe his injuries are, but Eden911 paramedics treated him on the scene.
Police are investigating the matter, and no arrests have yet been made.
