It no longer matters if the glass is half full or half empty: what matters is that the water is safe to drink.

You may have heard rumblings of it before, but it has now been confirmed – Cape Town’s drinking water is among the best in the world.

Several tests by water quality auditors who are serious about, well, water quality, were undertaken yesterday and the findings were positive for Cape Town’s drinking water supply.

Although it was declared by City of Cape Town official Ernest Sonnenberg that further work is being done to refine the city’s water network and treatment processes, we can now have peace of mind that there is a very little chance of anything nasty lurking in that glass of H20 you’ve just poured.

Personally I’ll still opt for a trip to the natural spring in Newlands.
