Five shoppers have been injured after the roof just inside of entrance one at Somerset Mall collapsed. The incident occurred at 12.15pm today, and the mall had to be evacuated.
One person was seriously hurt and four others suffered minor injuries. No further details of their injuries have been released. A Fire Safety Officer was on scene shortly after the roof collapse to access the damage.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. The mall was later reopened but the area around entrance 0ne remains cordoned off.
As yet, a cause has not been determined.
