Four years after being exonerated on charges of premeditated murder of his wife, Anni Hindocha, while on honeymoon in picturesque Cape Town, British businessman Shrien Dewani seems to have found a new love interest.

British publication, Mail Online, reported that Dewani has been dating a Brazilian photographer named Gledison Lopez Martins. The two even enjoyed an overseas holidays together, and a trip to India in October 2017.

Dewani’s family has shown support for the relationship, as the couple spent their last Christmas with the clan in Bristol.

Anni was killed during a botched hijacking in Gugulethu in 2010, and the murder trial dominated front pages for months and years thereafter. Three local men, Zola Tongo, Xolile Mngeni and Mziwamadoda Qwabe, were eventually convicted of her murder.

South African authorities then began the lengthy process of bringing Dewani back to stand trial. He was granted bail by a British judge, as the legal process was underway there, but broke the conditions of his bail.

While Dewani was behind bars, the state of his mental health came to light, and he spent the duration of his trial at Valkenburg Hospital undergoing evaluation.

In December 2010, Dewani handed himself over to British authorities after a local judge issued a warrant for his arrest. He flew to Cape Town for the trial which shed light on  his turbulent relationship with Anni and alleged preference for gay sex.

A German “rent boy” that it was alleged Dewani favoured reportedly flew in from London for sexual activities was also called as a witness during the trial.

Dewani  was acquitted on December 8, 2014 and left the country the very next day.
