Henri van Breda will have to wait until May 21 to hear his fate, after Judge Mushtak Parker moved the judgement date today in the Western Cape High Court. No reason was given for the postponement of the original date, April 23.

Van Breda stands accused of axe-murdering his parents, Theresa and Martin, as well as his older brother Rudi, and attempting to murder his sister Marli. The attack took place at their home in De Zalze estate, Stellenbosch in January 2015.

Presiding Judge Siraj Desai was not present in court today. There has been speculation that Desai has been replaced but the rumours were squashed by Parker.

On his version, Henri claims a masked intruder killed his family while he stood helpless. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
