Let’s face it. The change of season always means good things: pretty flowers in bloom, warmer weather, cuter clothes for the hotter days, and the most important of them all: sale season. This is when we all go crazy in stores and get our hands on those new-season bargains. We all love a good markdown, and luckily for us, Groupon is offering 20% off on all local deals for today only (7 September 2016) from 8 am to 1 pm.

Springtime is all about the outdoors. Here are three outdoor adventures that you can do in the Mother City for under R250. Just use the ‘SPRING’ code to get an additional saving on outdoor activities.

THE BEST BEACHES IN CAPE TOWN

Sun’s out. Grab some sunscreen, a towel, and head out to any one the Mother City’s coolest beaches. Beta Beach is located 10 minutes away from the CBD, if you’re in the mood for a tan and a refreshing swim.

Oudekraal has sandy shores and is located near the milkwood forest if you want to go on a little adventure. This is part of Table Mountain National Park, so remember that you will have to pay an entrance fee (R20–R35).

If you’re in the mood for a longer scenic route, then head over to Tietiesbaai along the West Coast. Take a blanket with you, pack a picnic and enjoy the rows of flowers that are as pretty as a picture.

PADDLE AROUND SCHAAPEN ISLAND

Are you the adventurous type? If so, take a scenic tour of the Cape with a friend and enjoy a two-hour paddle around Schaapen Island in Langebaan. This paddle activity is suitable for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Take the family out on a fun spring-day water adventure or have a romantic spring date with your loved one on the water.

The two-hour paddle session is priced at R229 per person.

WINE O’CLOCK DURING SPRING

Music festival season is when the sun comes out to play. Drinking fine wine and enjoying the sunshine is one of the best things to do in Cape Town. Get your hands on a Rocktober Feast ticket, which includes a bottle of vino, for R150 per person. Grab your friends and rock out to Springbok Nude Girls and some of South Africa’s finest rock acts.
