Sunday 2 November, 11 am
The Fugard Bioscope, District Six
Screened as part of The Fugard Theatre’s 2014 & 2015 World Cinema Season, Tennessee Williams’ tragic masterpiece A Streetcar Named Desire will be showing in the Fugard Bioscope.
As Blanche DuBois’ fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace – but her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley Kowalski. The profound and lyrical plays of Tennessee Williams had an immeasurable effect on American theatre, Streetcar probably the most influential of all.
Gillian Anderson plays Blanche DuBois, alongside Ben Foster as Stanley Kowalski, with Stella Kowalski played by Vanessa Kirby.
