Politicians at SONA pulled out all the stops and strutted the red carpet like it was South African Fashion Week. The First Lady in her regal demeanor, wore a classic outfit, befitting her new role. President Cyril Ramaphosa stuck to the classic dark suit, crisp white short and a bright tie. While political enthusiasts wait for the new president’s speech, fashion fundis are curiously asking, “Who are you wearing?”

Here’s a look at the red carpet this evening.

Keeping to their traditional Xhosa attire, Mandla and wife, Rabia looked once again stunning.  The chief of Mvezo village previously stated,  he always captures his culture and tradition on the red carpet. He will surely make the best-dressed list again.

Cape Town’s Premier, Helen Zille, sure knows how to keep it classic and elegant.
