Rezonance New Year’s Eve Festival 2015/2016 features four music stages, enchanting décor and a prime sound system, all in a serene locale ideal for reckless abandon.
For those who need more than a day to celebrate the new year, camping and partying at an outdoor festival might be the obvious choice. With Electric Vines being cancelled, there’s a shortage of New Year’s Eve festivals in the Western Cape this year but fortunately, Rez Fest stands strong.
Some changes this year will make Rez Fest better than ever: the Chill Temple is moving to a peaceful spot at the newly widened dam wall and the Prema Shanti Healing Sanctuary is moving further down the main dam. The team has rebranded The Misfits Meadows Stage to the Nova Stage to include a broader spectrum of electronic music genres.
A mere 30-minute drive from Cape Town is all it takes to escape the city for New Year’s Eve. Rez Fest’s car-pool initiative encourages everyone to travel with at least three people in the car to help reduce the overall carbon footprint of the festival. The Drop and Go Car Pass will allow your Uber driver to drop you and your gear close to where you want to be. First-time Uber users can enter the code RezFest15 to receive R150 off their first ride.
The gates to the green meadows at the Contermanskloof Farm in Durbanville will open at 10 am on Wednesday 30 December 2015 and close at 6 pm on Saturday 2 January 2016 at 6 pm.
The ticket price includes access to the general camping area which, for safety reasons, is separate from the parking area. There are limited glamping options as well as guest houses available. The Rejuvenation Station (available at an extra fee) provides additional luxuries (or what some might term, necessities) like guaranteed hot showers at certain times. There’s a designated spot for camper vans and mobile homes.
