A round-up of our style finds from earlier this week…

Jane-Sews

SEE JANE SEWS
Jane Sews is a local clothing label of uplifted staples and timeless pieces by designer Amy Venter. Inspired by nature, Amy’s collections are all crafted from high-quality natural fabrics. ‘This is a story sewn by honest hands speaking to a simpler way of living,’ she says.
We love her footwear and easy-to-wear clothing, but this soft leather shopper bag is our lust-have of the moment.
Cost R1 199

DIy-mason-jars

CONSOL DOES IT AGAIN
Remember how we flipped over Consol’s cocktail jars? Well, we’ve lost our hearts to this innovative glass brand again, this time falling for their DIY mason jars.
These adorable animal-topped jars make great gifts, but we’ll forgive you if you end up keeping them all yourself in the end. Each one in the set of three comes with glue, gold enamel paint, a paintbrush, twine and a ‘did you know’ animal fact.
Cost R199 for set of three

Cage-pendant-light

SEE THE LIGHT
Let’s face it – there’s nothing masculine about the word ‘lampshade’. Give your man cave a more rugged feel with this cage pendant light.
The cage is 30 cm x 28 cm and takes a large E27 Edison screw bulb. Of course, we think it would look ultimately slick with an artisan Hoi P’loy bulb.
Cost R699

Township

SHOP AT TOWNSHIP
Township, a ground-breaking social enterprise accredited by the World Fair Trade Organisation, uses fabric inspired by the vibrant landscape of South Africa’s townships to design and produce proudly South African clothing, decor, bags and accessories.
You can find them at the new Watershed design hub at the V&A Waterfront.
We love this Megalo bag from their Princess collection, an award winner at the Maison & Objet trade show in Paris.
Cost R1 900

Dan-Fuller

DAN FULLER GEO RINGS
Cape Town jewellery designer Dan Fuller‘s range is handmade using methods usually associated with architecture and furniture – think jewellery meets industrial design. All Dan’s jewellery is manufactured from high-grade stainless steel, polished to a smooth brushed or mirror finish.
Cuff links, dog tags, pendants and money clips all form part of the product offering, but we love the clean, masculine lines of his geometric rings, uplifting hands all over the city.
Cost R400 each
