One of the finest and most comprehensive spas you’ll find in South Africa, let alone Cape Town, is at the Twelve Apostles Hotel.

The fast, and demanding pace of life most of us experience on a daily basis is taxing on the body to say the least. Not everyone can feel it, but you would be surprised by how many knots can be worked out of your back through massage – knots accumulated from everyday stresses and bad posture.

I was clearly guilty of everyday stresses and bad posture by the number of knots eased through my 90 minute back, neck, head and shoulder massage at The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa.

Several interesting features I’d love to experience next time I visit for include the Rasul chamber, the rain showers and the mountain gazebos. The hot lava shell massage also sounds worth investigating, a technique incorporating the self-heating technology of the Tiger shell.

The underground, cavern-like section of the Twelve Apostles contain various hydrotherapy pools and a salt water flotation pool. Guests can enjoy these pools after or between their treatments at the spa.
