Riders Connection, a group hailing from Berlin in Germany, create a unique blend of music that could best be described as ‘polystylistic heart music.’
After touring Europe and the UK in October and November, they have landed in South Africa to perform as part of their debut album release tour in December, and they will be performing all over Cape Town.
When first listening, you think it’s great reggae, soul folky blues music. Take a closer look, and you realise that there is no drummer and suddenly this adds a whole new dimension.
Beatboxer, Moritz, uses his mouth to create all the percussion to produce everything from hip-hop beats to ‘didgeridoo’ imitations. Singer and acoustic guitarist, Philipp, connects the groovy basslines with his dynamic and captivating vocals. He also uses his mouth to emulate trumpet sounds that can easily be mistaken for brass. Aleksej keeps the three piece group rhythmically connected with strong bass lines that draw the crowd and keep them grooving.
The group started busking together on Berlin streets and have since built up a loyal base of fans and have toured extensively. This indie band has done it all without a record label.
Riders Connection has incorporated their love for reggae, hip-hop and electronic music in their debut album, Colour Me to produce 10 original, mostly English language tracks that form a fun and upbeat, summery album. The album theme is representative of emotions and how they can be connected to different styles of music and what influences the band.

Their SA tour kicked off in Hout Bay, and they have performed at River Republic, in Big Bay and Johannesburg, and still have some shows coming up around Cape Town.
