This is such a fantastic initiative. Oscars Arc is a pop-up adoption centre currently at Nobel Square at the V&A Waterfront at the time of writing.

The focus of Oscars Arc is multi-purpose. Firstly, to accelerate the adoption process, enrich the lives of shelter dogs and most importantly, find these lovable furry friends a good home. Visitors can play with the dogs and take them for walks too – truly a great way to unwind even if you aren’t considering adoption. Donations are also welcomed.

Here in the Western Cape alone, we have a rampant issue with animal welfare centres being inundated with animals, sadly filled to capacity with minimal resources on hand. This pop-up brings adoption to easily-accessible, high-traffic places. Those interested can follow Oscars Arc on Facebook here to find out where the pop-up will be travelling to next.
