The monthly themed Assembly parties we know and love as After Hours were laid to rest in January this year, to much disappointment from fans.

But after three years of throwback tunes and every theme from High Noon to Home Improvement, Ninja Kid and A Christmas Carol, it was time for creators Phil, Ian and Tyler to hang up their headphones. After all, everybody knows the right time to leave a party is when it’s cresting.

But it seems the hint of summer in Cape Town’s air lately was enough to tempt the boys out of hiding. Get ready, because After Hours Back to the Future is taking place tomorrow, Saturday 17 October.

As per usual, the party is preceded by a promo video that’s deliciously cheesy, heavy on the irony and complete with crazy costumes – much like the parties themselves.

Back for good?

Yes and no. For the foreseeable future, After Hours will take place once a quarter at The Assembly rather than monthly. Fewer events = more fun, according to organisers. What that really means is you have no excuse to be a ‘no-show’ tomorrow.
