It’s the perfect time of year to let your freak flag fly, and we know just where you should do it…

HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA WEEKEND AT THE ASSEMBLY
AssemblyI don’t think any venue in Cape Town has played host to as many off-the-wall costume parties as The Assembly has, so it’s only natural they’re going big for Halloween.

Warm up on Friday night with Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun, a line-up of only the hottest female DJs. Then, for the main event on Saturday, get your scary on for… Daring Disney Devils? We’re not sure where they’re going with that one either, but we do know you can expect a killer live line-up including Los Tacos, Mr Cat and The Jackal, Kings Down South and the Robfather on the decks until late.

ZOMBIE FEST
Zombie-FestYou’d be forgiven for thinking Resident Evil extras were staging a protest on Saturday, as thousands of undead take to Cape Town’s streets for the annual Zombie Walk in aid of The Lucky Lucy Foundation. This year’s stagger starts at 104 Government Avenue in the Company’s Garden and heads through the garden, along the Fan Walk and to the Waterfront.

Possibly even more terrifying will be seeing them all squeak a little takkie later at The Lookout for the afterparty. A huge line-up of bands is confirmed, headlined by The Rudimentals. Please note, this is a family-friendly event, but there will be a beer garden for over-18s with a view of the stage.

For more info, check out our Zombie Walk and Zombie Fest post on the Cape Town Etc events page.

SCARY AS FVCK AT ACES N SPADES
Aces

Considering Aces is widely known as ‘the good bar where bad things happen’, we wouldn’t expect anything less than a killer Halloween jol from them on the 31st.

As per usual, entrance is free, with three guest DJs, prizes for the best dressed and a whole lot of that rock n roll soul.

THE DEADLY DISCO AT CAPRICE
Caprice

The home of Cape Town’s drop-dead-gorgeous party set, Caprice is paying tribute to All Hallows Eve this Friday with a night of dangerously good beats.

Dress up (and we mean horror, not just heels) and you’ll receive a complimentary welcome drink.

ROLLER DISCO
Roller-DiscoThings are getting spookily retro on Friday with a roller disco hosted by the Cape Town Rollergirls. Bring your own skates (rollerblades welcome) or rent some for R30 for 30 minutes. A cash bar will be open and in true roller-girl style there will be prizes for the best dressed.

DJ Dear Mrs Panda and DJ PandaMonium will be pumping the disco tunes, so there’s no excuse not to grab somebody’s hand and hit the floor.
