South Africa’s favourite musos, Mi Casa, have returned home from their international tour. Now, the trio plans to tour the country to mark the release of Mi Casa’s new album Home Sweet Home. We caught up with J’Something before the band kicks off the tour in the Mother City with the GrandWest concert this Friday.

Home Sweet Home is Mi Casa’s third album to be released. When and where can fans expect to buy the new album?

October 24th is the official release 🙂

What can Capetonians expect from the Home Sweet Home launch tour as the first concert takes place at GrandWest this week?

How we’re viewing it is a personal listening session with our fans. We really going to just break down each song; explain how it was made and what it means. We wanted every single Capetonian that comes to the show on Friday to leave special and appreciated because since day one Cape Town has been so incredible to us. Hence, why we made sure they were the first on the list for the Dare to Love tour.

You’ll be playing songs recorded during your time touring overseas. Would you say the change in location added a new flavour to these sounds?

Definitely! New influence, new inspiration … just a lot of new. But, the sound is still us. I guess with every album you feel a little bit closer to the artist you were born to be. This album is no different. Matter of fact, it’s a very scary and clear description of what we love and are about.

Mi Casa’s international tour took you to London, Portugal, Canada and many more countries. Could you share the band’s favourite memory from the tour?

Wow… I think rocking in Lisbon until the early hours of the morning with about 2 000 crazy fans. We even got onto the main dance floor and just had a great time. It was special.

We’re happy to have you back home. How do you plan on spending your time during the warmer months in SA? Planning another visit to the Mother City after the tour?

Yes yes yes! We actually can’t wait to just come and chill down there again – hit the beach, climb Lions head or something. We always love being in CPT, it’s our home. Let’s rephrase that, it’s our HOME SWEET HOME 🙂
