As much as the Movember stint of growing your best beard for the month of November is fun and games, the cause behind the movement is just as important as extravagant moustaches are entertaining. Here are 4 events around the Western Cape you can attend to help raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.

 

1. Movember Bowls

Go bowling at the annual Movember Bowls hosted at the Fresnaye Bowling Club to help raise funds for Movember.

2. MO-vaoke (Karaoke Charity event with MFM 92.6 and Aandklas)

MFM 92.6 will be hosting a karaoke evening at Aandklas in Stellenbosch, where all proceeds will go to Movember. A barber will be there offering shaves and hairsprays so you can show your full support. Prizes up for grabs for the guy and girl with the best looking mustache.

3.  MO’verberg – Cultivate your SNOR for charity

Creation Wines will be hosting an informative, as well as entertaining evening in the name of men’s health. A ticket to the event includes a R100 donation toward the Movember Foundation, as well as a Q&A with Dr Dries van den Heever about men’s health. Canapés, MCC on arrival and a three course food and wine pairing will end the evening off with satisfied taste buds and bellies.

4. 12 Hour ElliptiMo-THON Challenge

Join a 12 hour ElliptoGO-thon on Signal Hill on November 26. Event organiser Anthony Van Rhyn will kick off at 6am and challenges anyone to join him with a voluntary donation to help reach his target of R2000.
