This place of tasty pizza and pasta feels like home the second you make your way onto its shaded deck, and for locals, Bacini’s on Kloof has been a place they can return to each week since 1994.

Kloof street is one of Cape Town’s most unique streets, filled with a collection of the city’s favourite bars and eateries. Of all these incredible places, however, none is quite as welcoming as Bacini’s, which seems to beckon to you as you walk past on the street, the smell of melted cheese and fresh basil pesto seeping into your nostrils and leading you by your nose into a seat on the deck.

A sunny spot on the deck of the outside seating area, with a gorgeous view of Lion’s Head and a gentle, refreshing breeze, is hard to refuse, while the inside seating area offers a cosy alternative to the deck. Those looking to pop in and out quickly can grab a street-side seat where they can enjoy a drink and watch the buzzing street life.

Flavourful and classic wood oven-cooked pizzas are on offer and waiters will often come around with delightful bites to eat while you decide on one of the many mouthwatering options on the menu. If you’re vegan or have a friend or family member who is, Bacini’s also offers a build-your-own vegan pizza option that is just as delicious and sure to please any palate.

Bacini’s now offers ‘Summer Sundays’ from 5pm, which makes it the perfect place to cap off the week after the adventures of the day. Indulge in classic Italian cuisine, live local musicians and cocktails of your choice. There’s no cocktail menu but if you can dream it, chances are Bacini’s can whip it up for you.

If the weather is good, the cover over the deck is removed and the sun filters in, as well as more of the beautiful view.

The songs of local musicians accompanied by their acoustic guitars fill the air, and the brightly-coloured cocktails add to the relaxed, feel-good vibe.

If you’re coming off the street from a day of hiking, relaxing on the beach or even going about a few chores, stop over at Bacini’s to end off your week the perfect way.
