Ahead of the sweltering temperatures expected this weekend, Capetonians can rejoice as the Mother City’s dam levels have increased again to over 82% thanks to the rainy weather received last week.

It seems Cape Town will soon receive more frequent warm weather with the shift of seasons but dam levels are looking good at an overall 82.1%

Steenbras Lower is at 101.5% followed by Berg River at 99.2% and Steenbras Upper at 91.2%. The Mother City’s lowest dam is Theewaterskloof at 72.5%.

The forecast for the weekend shows an increase in temperatures even higher than previous expectations.

Friday will bring a high of 24°C and a low of 12°C, while Saturday offers high temperatures of 31°C and lows of 17°C.

Sunday will also be a warm day with a high of 26°C and a low of 13°C expected.

Luckily for locals, rain may just make its way to the Mother City following the hot weekend from Wednesday next week.
