For yet another year running Cape Town International Airport has made the cut as Africa’s best on the Skytrax World Airport Awards while also coming in at 22 on the list of the top 100 airports in the world.
As Africa’s third-largest airport, Cape Town International is a premier tourist destination as well as an award-winning one, consistently performing among the best in the world.
The awards are based off a large-scale survey of roughly 13-million airport questionnaires completed by over 100 different nationalities of airline customers, and cover 550 airports worldwide, evaluating traveller experiences across different criteria, including check-in, transfers, shopping, security and departure at the gate, and other factors.
Accommodating roughly 10- to 20-million passengers, Cape Town International was also featured under the best airports for 2019.
The Airline analytics company OAG also recently released its report on the world’s busiest flight routes for 201. The route from Cape Town to Johannesburg is mentioned as the eleventh-busiest on the list. The route has over 33,708 annual flights and is operated by six carriers.
For the seventh consecutive year in a row, the Changi Airport in Singapore came out on top as the best airport in the world.
It was chosen particularly for its unique facilities, high-level hospitality and customer service, and impressive innovation.
The airport features not only a huge indoor waterfall but also a beautiful butterfly garden that houses 40 different species.
