#CapeCalm and don’t give up

We’re into our second week of the nationwide lockdown and if we’ve made it this far, we can make it to the end, Cape Town.

Another quiet day in the Mother City brought blue skies and warm weather, while all the Capetonians stayed indoors.

From Woodstock to Durbanville the roads are empty and the usual vibe of the city has calmed to a standstill.

Day eight is here and soon day nine will have come and gone. Don’t give up, Cape Town, we’re getting there!

Lockdown Day 7 of 21 (?). More than anything I want to hug my parents ?. If we can’t be with our families and since I no longer have a home in Portland, this temporary Cape Town home is filled with possibilities. Communal meals, 20 minute art breaks to honor First Thursday, mid day Pilates break with @thebentandthestraight ,Moonlight Yoga @yogawithjennison , modern game night but the best part of yesterday was the community coming together to cheer for essential workers. Driving in the bus as we were taken directly from our ship at Cape Town port to the airport. Some beautiful mountain scenery (a bit blurry and with reflections from bus windows). I couldn’t believe the extent of the Shanty Towns along the main highway.
