Cape Town has welcomed its first-ever alcohol-free bar, at vegan bakery and coffee shop, Cloud Café, located in the bustling hub of Green Point at The Foundry.
With an innovative twist on the traditional experience, the 0% bar features a wide variety of alcohol-free cocktails designed to ‘uplift and invigorate’.

A part of the Cloudigital Art Gallery, the conscious café and bar brings a fresh and dynamic atmosphere to the Mother City by catering to health-conscious individuals and those seeking a ‘mindful approach’ to socialising.
The diverse menu is carefully crafted to accommodate a wide range of tastes and dietary preferences to ensure an enjoyable experience for all.
At the heart of the bar’s offerings are the alcohol-free cocktails, which include drinks such as the Cloud 9, Blissful Beet and Matcha Mule.
Each drink is prepared by an in-house alchemist using Pachamama’s herbs, spices, medicines and more to deliver complex flavours as well as a ‘natural high’, providing an alternative to traditional alcoholic beverages.
The gluten-free vegan bakery provides an assortment of treats that are both nutritious and indulgent, such as cheesecake, brownies and macarons, made with artistic skill and the highest standards of taste and quality in mind.
Additionally, the quality of the café’s coffee is also showcased in every cup they serve. Patrons can pick from Indian, Ethiopian or Brazilian beans or, for an alternative to coffee, the Mannabrew superfood espresso.
From August onwards, Cloud Café will be hosting its ‘First Thursdays’ event every Thursday evening with high-frequency music, catered vegan food and a guest speaker. Tickets are available on Quicket.
The café also offers Unplugged Sundays, a tech-free way to end the weekend, where patrons can engage in board games or some ‘soothing meditation in the cinematic space’.
