Cape Town’s first heated boxing studio opened its doors on November 1, 2018. The idea was developed as a result of founder and owner Craig Kinnear’s boxing background.

Given that Capetonians were recently named the fittest South Africans, the innovative studio fits perfectly with the lifestyle of locals.

Drenched focuses on cardio and full-body workouts – think boxing, cardio, functional, and weight training. The heated boxing studio is set to 30 degrees Celsius and is equipped with an adjoining HIIT studio and personal training area. The boxing studio can equally be used as a heated yoga studio by members looking to stretch and unwind.

“The whole point of Drenched is to be inclusive rather than intimidating,” said Kinnear. The studio aims to cater to the needs of all fitness levels. Clients can work out at their own pace without feeling pressured to keep up and exhausting themselves.

Whether you’re looking to exercise before or after work, the classes are the perfect way to start or end your day. Each weekday there are six classes, with a choice between HIIT and heated boxing, and on Saturdays, there are three classes as well as a DJ on site to welcome in the weekend. The studio is closed on Sundays.

Classes begin at 6am on weekdays and 8am on Saturdays, and run for 45 minutes. Once signed up, members can use all equipment at their leisure. Instructors and assistants are available to help with training and form correction.

To book a class and/or to become a member, simply download the MindBody booking platform app, search for Drenched in Cape Town and book the class you want to attend. You will pay for the session when you arrive.

Classes are limited to 20 people, so be sure to book in advance.

Drenched is located at 47 Bloem Street, Cape Town City Center.
