Robberg beach in Plettenberg Bay has had an array of aquatic visitors over the past few months. A pair of Cape clawless otters were sighted emerging from the surf. A leopard seal was also spotted moving from the beach into the water.

The most recent animal event, however, takes the cake. An elephant seal was spotted chasing a great white shark.

In a video shared to Facebook by the ORCA Foundation, a massive great white can be seen swimming in clear water. An even larger grey shape comes into the frame and chases the shark for a short while toward shallow rocks. The shark makes a quick turn and disappears into the open ocean, by which time the elephant seal noticeably slows down.
